1. We shall draw a male face
looking down viewed from front. We start with the oval and then mark the standard
eyeline and vertical divider.
2. As the face we are drawing shall be looking down, the
actual eye line, hair line will be curving up at the edge and down at the
middle. Also the point where the eyeline and hair line would cross the vertical
line shall be lower than what it normally is. The tip of the nose will also be
lower than the normal postion when the face is straight looking at us. The gap
between the tip of nose and mouth will decrese as the face tilts more downward.
At some point, the tip of nose will start covering the lips. The space between
lips and chin line shall also be less than what it looks normally for a
straight face. And overall the face and chin will be more pointed towards the
bottom.
3. The Brows are drawn to its position. In this case the
horizontal lines will be curving down. The lines that are already curving down
will be more carving down and those curving up in normal scenario shall be
little less curved.
4. Once the lines and positions are marked we draw the nose.
The tip of nose will be more pointed. This follows the above theory that curves
that are already curving down at middle will be more curved in face looking
down. The upper lip will be narrower.
5. We draw the hair. When head tilts downward we see more of
the hair. Therefore, the width of the hair volume from hair line to top shall
be broader.
6. Now lets add the eyes. We simplify it by drawing heavy curved
lines suggesting the eyes looking down.
7. lets add shadows. A tutorial on adding shadows will be
published shortly.
